SMU Rolls Past Tulane 66-52 for big road AAC win.

(NEW ORLEANS, LA)--Junior point guard Nic Moore scored 18 points and had seven assists while only committing only one turnover to lead SMU to a huge 66-52 conference road win over Tulane on Wednesday night.

or center Yanick Moreira chipped in 14 points and collected eight boards (3 offenive) while Markus Kennedy added 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting off the bench for SMU (15-4, 6-1 American). The Mustangs out rebounded Tulane 41-30 in their 5th straight victory and 13th out of their last 14 games.

Tulane guard Louis Dabney had 16 points to lead the Green Wave that included two 3-pointers and being perfect in 6 tries from the free throw line while Senior guard Jay Hook added 14 points and seven rebounds for Tulane (13-6, 4-3). The Green Wave made just 33.3% of their shots on 16 of 48 shooting while the Mustangs completed 43.1% of their shots on 22 of 51 shooting.

Up three at the half, the Mustangs opened the second on a 21-8 run, a stretch that included 11 straight SMU points. SMU only made one field goal in the final six minutes, but Tulane could not capitalize while being held to only 22 points in the 2nd half on 27.3% (6-22) shooting.

Next up: The Mustangs return home for another big conference match-up Saturday against the AAC cellar dweller Houston Cougars (7-11, 0-7 American) on Jan. 24 at Moody Coliseum for a 5:00 p.m. CT tip off to be broadcast on CBSSN. The Green Wave stays home to play the 2nd game of an important three game homestand against an AAC power Memphis Tigers (11-7, 4-3) off campus Saturday the 24th at the Smoothie King Center starting at 8 p.m. that can be seen on ESPNU.
