San Antonio Hammers Frisco 11-6

Guilder Rodriguez got things going for Frisco as he led off the bottom of the first inning with a sharp single to center field. Obduel Herrera would later hit a sacrifice fly to center that would bring him home, putting Frisco up 1-0.

Missions’ DH Lee Orr would get the Missions on the board in the top of 2nd by hitting a single to left that scored two runs. SS Adam Buschini hit into a fielder’s choice that scored another run, putting San Antonio up 3-1.  

In the bottom of the third, Guilder Rodriguez hit into an RBI fielder’s choice to second that cut the San Antonio lead to 3-2. Patrick Cantwell would hit into another RBI fielder’s choice to tie the game at 3-3.

In the top of the 5th, Adam Buschini hit a home run over the center field wall that put the Missions’ back in the lead 4-3.

The Missions would score another run in the 6th when Lee Orr hit an RBI double to right. They would go score another on a passed ball by C Robert KralAdam Buschini brought home another run on a sacrifice fly to center and the inning would end with San Antonio up 7-3 over Frisco.

San Antonio starter Bryce Morrow would leave the game in the bottom of the 6th, going five innings giving up four runs on three hits and two strike outs.  Frisco would capitalize on the pitching change by putting up two more runs on a single by Guilder Rodriguez, a walk by Patrick Cantwell, a double by Jorge Alfaro, and then a single by Nick Williams. Frisco would end the inning, closing the gap to 7-6.

Frisco starter Alex Gonzalez would leave the game in the top of the seventh, going six innings giving up seven runs (five earned) on nine hits all while striking out seven. San Antonio would waste little time putting up another run on a double by Jason Hagerty and a single by Alex Dickerson. Adding to the damage, Robert Kral hit a line drive home run to right scoring another two runs. San Antonio would leave the inning up 10-6.

San Antonio kept the scoring going in the top of the eight when Cory Spangenberg tripled and scored Adam Buschini, who walked earlier in the inning, putting the Missions up 11-6.

Frisco managed to load the bases in the bottom of the eight but could not score a run and left all three runners stranded on base.

San Antonio pitcher John Hussey came in the bottom of the ninth and sealed the win for the Missions. Bryce Morrow was given the win and Alex Gonzalez the loss.
