As the trade deadline approaches there are lots of rumors swirling around as there always is. Usually most of these things never come to fruition but let’s look at a few that make since.

Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez to the Kansas City Chiefs

Tony came back for one reason and one reason only, and that’s to win a super bowl. After last week’s loss it’s looking like the Falcons might just be lucky to make a wildcard spot.  Atlanta would at least get something for a player that will more than likely be done at the end of the season and the Chiefs would get another viable weapon on their offence.

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew to the Dallas Cowboys

Dallas needs a 1B to their 1A running back DeMarco Murray. Murray is great but can seem to stay healthy and this would give the Cowboys a much needed safety net in the back field. When Dallas can run the ball they are a much tougher team.

Speaking of Dallas

Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen to the Dallas Cowboys

This rumor makes since to me because with Ware still not ready to play this could be just the shot in the arm the Dallas defense needs. This would just be a rent a player option since Allen will be up for a big raise in the offseason.

New York Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks and Cleveland Browns receiver Josh Gordon

Both rumored to be available if the deal is right and there are a good number of teams out there that could use some wide receiver help.  The Lions, Colts and Panthers are a few teams that are said to make since. Could you imagine if Calvin Johnson had a partner in crime so that he wouldn’t have to be double covered so much? The Panthers also need to start preparing for a future without Steve Smith'.

What trades, if any, would you like to see made before the deadline?.
